PRO2 clashes bandits in Isabela, 1 killed, 1 arrested and 1 on manhunt

    CAMP MARCELO A. ADDURU, TUGUEGARAO CITY –One died and another one was arrested while the other suspect is still on manhunt operation after a bloody encounter with a group of drug personalities and gun runners in Ramon, Isabela yesterday evening.

   Suspects were identified as Genesis Tumumba, (deceased), 19 years old, student and a resident of Sto. Domingo, Alfonso Lista, Ifugao; Adriano Ganer (arrested), 65 years old, married and a resident of Nagtipunan, Alfonso Lista, Ifugao and PATRICK GANER (At-Large), 24 years old, single and a resident of Oscariz, Ramon, Isabela.

   PNP Isabela Provincial Director PSSUPT MARIANO C RODRIGUEZ in his report to PRO2 Regional Director PCSUPT JOSE MARIO M ESPINO stated that at around 10:10 PM of June 26, 2018, a confidential agent called PCINSP RICHARD R GATAN, Chief of Police of San Mateo MPS that a transaction of illegal drugs and firearm had just happened between the 3 unidentified male persons and the cohort at Brgy Bella Luz, San Mateo, Isabela. After the alleged transaction, they went towards Ramon, Isabela area on board a single TMX motorcyle and a tricycle. The COP of San Mateo upon receiving such information immediately called up PCINSP LORD WILSON J ADORIO, Chief of Police, Ramon MPS for the possible interception of the said vehicles and apprehension of the said 3 male persons.  Ramon MPS immediately conducted checkpoint at Brgy Ozcariz which is near the boundery of San Mateo. Few minutes later, the police on checkpoint spotted the said vehicles and flagged it down. Instead of yielding, the suspects tried to escape at the irrigation canal leading towards Alfonso Lista, Ifugao. During the pursuit, the suspects fired towards the PNP team prompting the police to retaliate and able to hit one (1) of the suspects that caused his death. The 2 suspects were able to flee. However, Adriano Ganer was eventually arrested by another responding team, while Patrick Ganer is still being hunted. Recovered from the crime scene were one (1) 9mm pistol, eight (8) spent shell for caliber 9MM, six (6) spent shell for caliber 5.56 and two (2) heat sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected dried marijuana leaves.

    RD ESPINO applauded the operating teams for another big-time accomplishment against criminal elements. He urges the public to stay vigilant and encouraged them to report immediately to the police of any suspicious individuals in their respective localities for police action.
