PRO2 is eyeing for a drug-free region by June 2017 under project double barrel reloaded
Camp Marcelo A Adduru, Tuguegarao City- Police Regional Office 2 has set its deadline to clear all barangays in the region against illegal drugs.
In response to the call of the Chief, PNP to totally eradicate the problem on illegal drugs, PRO2 Regional Director PCSUPT ELISEO T RASCO has directed all PNP commanders in the region to double their effort to clear all barangays until June 1, 2017 through Project: Double Barrel Reloaded.
“I am certain that our aggressive campaign against illegal drugs which was relaunched last March 6, 2017 will succeed through a well-coordinated police operation with built-in systems that guarantee full accountability and instill internal discipline among all personnel,” RD RASCO said.
Record from the Regional Drug Enforcement Unit Monitoring Center (RDEUMC) shows that as of March 13, 2017, a total of 907 barangays were cleared from illegal drugs and 769 are to be cleared or 45.88 percent. Isabela has the biggest number of drug cleared barangays with 387 out of the 820 barangays while Santiago City has the highest percentage of barangays to be cleared with 72.97 percent.
It was on January 30, 2017 when the PNP’s war on drugs was stopped as ordered by Chief PNP PDG RONALD M DELA ROSA and focused on internal cleansing because of the controversies affecting the PNP ranks.
